I wanted to do something special for Tim's birthday this year. I decorated the backyard with plants and lights and set up a table with a nice tablecloth. My parents helped out a lot, which was nice. I also got to spend the afternoon with my mom, making the food for our dinner, so it felt good to reconnect with her too. My parents volunteered to serve us, which I thought was going to be weird, but ended up being pretty funny. I think Tim got a kick out of it too.
For appetizers, I made bruschetta and some sort of olive dip. It was really good. For dinner, I made a bistro mac and cheese with all these different cheeses, sun-dried tomatoes on top and asparagus on the side. I was surprised at how much I liked it. Thankfully, Tim seemed to like it too! (Or he listened when I told him to tell me he likes any food I make for him, even if he is lying.) And for desert, we had a huge pizookie. Everything turned out pretty perfect, and we had such a good time together.
Afterwards, we watched Singin' In the Rain on the wall in my backyard. It was a little chilly, so we got tons of blankets together and bundled up to watch.
All in all, I loved doing everything for him. It made me happy to see him happy.
The "hired" help.

Love this :).
The picture of Tim with the candle is my favorite from the bunch. Nicely done!
