He had some frustrations to get off his chest. One being that his grandma was in very bad health. Apparently, she had moved in with his aunt, and he did not get a chance to go to her going away party. And recently he found out that because of her health, she was not going to be able to fly home for a visit. He told me that he had a feeling that he was never going to see her again.
I don't think I am much good at comforting people. I've never had someone incredibly close to me die, so I cannot fully understand. The only thing I could think of to say was, "I will be praying for you." Brian knows that I am a Christian, but he is not religious at all. He said, "Well I don't really see the point in me praying, but thank you for praying for me."
Since we are doing our bible study on prayer right now, I have been interested to look back and see the things that I prayed for and what the answer to my prayer was.
I just found out that Brian's grandma is coming home later this month. I am so happy for him I nearly started crying. God answered my prayer in the way I wanted. He knew that Brian needed to see his grandma, even if to just say goodbye and have some sort of closure.
I am in awe of our Lord.
