Christmas traditions are a necessity.

My sisters and I had such a great time decorating Christmas cookies today. It's been a tradition that has kind of fallen away because I am the only one living at home anymore and it is so find a time that is good for everyone. This year the stars aligned and we found a time that worked for everyone. Decorating Christmas cookies with my family is one of my favorite memories from my childhood, and I plan to carry it on when (and if) I ever have kids.

These three cookies were our favorites. Number 1: Apathetic angel. Number 2: Zig Zag Christmas tree. Number 3: Hawaiian shirt gingerbread man. I made none of them. I have many talents, but decorating cookies is not one of them. I don't have the patience or determination (or perfectionist tendencies) that Tessa has. She is the best cookie decorator ever. Hands down.

P.S. Yes, that is florescent frosting. Some Christmas traditions are necessary, using traditional Christmas colored frosting is not one of them in this house.
