Just some things you should know.

Dear future husband,
Since reading the Christy Miller books, I have written some letters to you. When I was 12 I thought it was the coolest thing to do because I did not know anyone in my life who I would ever date, let alone marry. I did not even want to get married until a few years ago. Now, I think I know who you are, at least I hope I do. So there might be some things you should know about me. About three times a year I get really bad cramps in my calf in the middle of the night. I will wake up screaming and crying (ask Tessa). I hope you will help me stretch out my leg and cuddle with me until I fall back asleep. Sometimes at 3 in the morning, I need to get in the car and drive to the beach. This also happens about three times a year, and I would want you to go with me. Most Saturdays if I do not have anything to do, I prefer to not have to put pants on all day long. I would like to dance in my underwear and I need you to be okay with that. I am an introvert and I am a homebody a lot of times. Other times I really need to get out and be around people. I hope you can deal with both sides of me. When I am sleeping, I like to have my whole body covered with blankets, except my feet. I can never sleep with my feet covered. Or with socks on. And please do not rub your socks against my bare feet, I can not think of anything worse. I say that I do not like Christmas that much, but I really do. I look forward to waking up on Christmas morning with you and having hot chocolate and giving you gifts. I love giving gifts.

Just a few things I thought you should know.

Ah, yes, well, I make no promises on the socks on bare feet thing, but I'm prepared for the rest of that.... that is, if the letter's addressed to me....

i was referred to you via young people in love's giveaway today and coming across this post made me fall in love with your blog. even though i am 23-years-old, i still pick up christy miller books from time to time. and even though i haven't written my future husband a letter in quite some time, i definitely have a few stashed somewhere. also inspired by Christy Miller. :)

this is such a sweet and genuine future husband letter and i so enjoyed reading it.

hope you have a lovely monday <3

this letter is adorable! :) I understand totally about no covers over the feet! I, too, love giving gifts!

This is such a touching, revealing piece. I think everyone could write a letter to their partner's outlining the eccentricities they'll need to accept and love. In 'Good Will Hunting' Robin Williams' psychotherapist character talks about his wife's intensities and farting explaining to Will that: 'that's the good stuff' that you grow to love, if you've found the right one. It sounds like you certainly did.

Wishing you continued happiness!
